The Department of Classics is delighted to announce that Sara Magrin has been awarded tenure.  Professor Magrin is a world-renowned specialist in ancient philosophy with wide-ranging expertise in Hellenistic and late antique philosophy, especially Plotinus.  She holds degrees from the University of Padua (2003) and McGill University (2010).  She was Assistant Profesor at the University of Quebec-Montréal from 2007 (with tenure from 2011) until 2014, when we persuaded her to join our faculty. Here at Berkeley, she participates in all aspects of the Classics curriculum, both undergraduate and graduate.  She is also a core member of the Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy.
